Huhtamaki sells Australian rigid plastic business

Global packaging firm Huhtamaki has finalised an agreement to sell its rigid plastic consumer goods business in Australia to Alto Manufacturing, a subsidiary of Pact Group. The annual net sales of the divested business is €50m and it currently employs some 330 people.

Huhtamaki moves into Vietnam

Huhtamaki, the EUR2.2 billion consumer packaging specialist based in Finland and with worldwide operations, will establish a manufacturing facility in Vietnam to supply the local food and consumer goods industry with advanced flexible packaging. The value of the greenfield investment is approximately EUR20 million, and the site is expected to commence production in early 2004.
