The Queensland PICAs wrapped up last week with more than 400 printers gathering at the Brisbane Sofitel Hotel on Saturday night to celebrate the best print the state had to offer. Stafford-based print shop Platypus Graphics took out the Judges’ Choice Award as well as five other gold awards on the night.

Canberra printers were recognised at the state’s Print & Graphic Excellence (Page) awards last week. Organisers say the awards recognise the best design, print and digital production Canberra’s graphic arts industry has to offer.

NSW printers flocked to Pyrmont in Sydney last week for the WorkCover NSW Print Excellence Awards, which Printing Industries claimed was the State’s biggest print event for 2009. On the night, 34 gold awards were presented to printers from throughout the state.

Australian print management company, E-Bisprint, has won three awards in the US print excellent and knowledge competition (Peak). The Tuggerah-based company went up against 231 entries in the international competition.
