Participating in its fifth Auspack, finance solution provider Finlease told APP that given the current economic climate the show displayed a good turnout of both exhibitors and visitors.

Schutz highlighted the benefits of its ECOBULK containers to Auspack visitors, which the company says are able to help streamline a business’ liquid packaging operations.

International bioplastic innovator Plantic says interest in bioplastic is on the rise, with the company receiving strong interest throughout Auspack. The company manufactures materials from non-GM corn starch that are biodegradable, sustainable and compostable.

The Australian Institute of Packaging (AIP) has dubbed its National Technical Forums, which were held alongside Auspack, a success. The Institute says the forums – which fit perfectly within the scope of the larger event –brought together packaging member from throughout the country who gained insight into the advancements and technologies currently available.

During the Awards of excellence, which were held alongside last week’s Auspack, the Australian Packaging Machinery Association (APMA) announced Rebecca Du as the inaugural winner of its annual scholarship programme. The prize enables a person each year to study an Australian Institute of Packaging (AIP) Diploma in Packaging Technology.

The show will boast new and innovative products from ADM Packaging Technology, Cermex Group, BEUMER Group, Blueprint Automation, Camsensor Australia, Colimatic, Dynamic Inspection and Eimco Water Technologies.

Companies who will also be showcasing new products during Auspack 2009 include Proud Solutions, Rhima, SAiMO, DB Schenker, Shell Cassida, Strapex, Tangible Packaging, Tna Solutions, ULMA and Visy Automation.

With less than three weeks to go until Auspack organisers say exhibitors will at the event will showcase more than 900 brands of packaging and processing machinery, materials and associated technology.

This year’s Auspack event to be held in June will see a number of new products launched including the new laser coder from Thermal Coding Australia and some new environmental products from Sancell, according to organisers.
