For KBA, the Poligrafia trade fair in PoznaÅ„, where it was represented jointly for the first time by Warsaw-based Polish subsidiary KBA-Polska and Czech subsidiary KBA-Grafitec (Dobruška), was a resounding success. Polish customers signed up for three Performa 74 and four Performa 66 presses, with further contracts imminent.
KBA-Grafitec is already set to become the leading purveyor of SRA2 and B2 presses in Poland for the second year running. KBA’s Rapida sheetfed presses and diverse web presses were also a focus of keen interest and a number of contracts are approaching completion.
The KBA stand was a hive of activity, with print demonstrations throughout the day on a Performa 74 four-colour coater press, and a daily draw with a mountain bike as the prize. Posters printed on the Performa 74 portraying Polish Formula One racing driver Robert Kubica and a reproduction of “The Battle of Tannenberg” by Polish artist Jan Matejko were snapped up by keen collectors along with picture postcards printed on 250gsm board.
Games of chance and open house at Grafpoz
KBA Grafitec’s traditional get-together with a hundred or more Polish sheetfed customers was devoted to games of chance including roulette, darts and fruit machines. KBA-Polska took 80 customers and prospects to an open house at Grafpoz in nearby Batorowo, where a new 15-unit Rapida 105 with a unique configuration comprising a corona static eliminator, a coater, two dryers, seven printing units, a second coater, two dryers, a third coater and a triple delivery extension printed posters featuring opaque white, iridescent effects and matt/gloss coatings on 0.3mm (11pt) plastic film.
KBA consolidates its strong position in Poland
Poligrafia 2007 saw KBA consolidate its strong position in the Polish print market. KBA-Polska, a subsidiary founded only at the end of last year, has already established a reputation among Polish printers as a highly competent sales and service operation for KBA sheetfed and web presses. Customer services for Performa presses in Poland are provided by four highly skilled specialists with technical support from KBA-Grafitec.
