Visy launches new brand for packaging and printing

New brand: six businesses have been aggregated under the VisyGlama
New brand: six businesses have been aggregated under the VisyGlama
Visy
Visy has consolidated six of its leading specialty print, packaging and supply chain businesses to form an integrated premium packaging, print and point-of-sale offer. Meanwhile Visy's new recycling facility at Onehunga, New Zealand is open for business.

Complementary businesses have been aggregated under the VisyGlama banner to provide a total product and service offer to retail marketing and packaging customers.

The launch of the VisyGlama brand has been complemented by significant re-investment in world-class print and packaging equipment, including Australia's largest format lithographic press, which is expected to come online early in 2009, offering outstanding print quality and competitive pricing over short and large print runs, according to the company.

VisyGlama will work closely with the other Visy business units, offering clients a suite of environmental closed loop, advisory and educational services, including access to Visy recycling programs, carbon footprint audits and data for specific projects.

George Haggar GM of VisyGlama says, “Establishing one powerful brand in the market and offering a one-stop service for high premium print, packaging and point-of-sale made more sense than operating a string of smaller brands with overlapping service offerings. Our decision to move this way was backed by an extensive customer research campaign.”

Also in the news, Visy’s $21.9m Onehunga Materials Recovery Facility is expected to process 75,000 tonnes of recyclable materials this year. The system uses advanced optical sorting technology to sort and separate recyclable materials.
