Two of Gallus’ new ECS 340 label presses are headed for Australia following the press’s launch at last year’s Labelexpo Europe. Since the show, Gallus has sold 20 of the technical granite based machines worldwide.

According to Gallus, the ECS 340 is based on a core of technical granite, ensuring a machine concept with extremely short web travel and minimal waste, minimum setup times and simple operation and access. The company adds, granite also has a positive impact on the CO2 footprint of the Gallus ECS 340.

One of the Australian bound presses will be installed at a Qld converter’s facility by April, while the second will be the centre piece of the Gallus Australia open house set to be held at its Melbourne facility in May.

James Rodden, managing director, Gallus Australia told Australian Printer, “The open house will enable us to showcase the latest technology on offer from Gallus. The ECS 340 is modern servo press with one of the shortest web passes and can assist in reducing customer’s waste and substrate costs.”

Gallus also outlines that the ECS 340’s plate cylinders and anilox rollers are designed as sleeves, which enables fast job changeovers. This benefit is supplemented by the chambered doctor blade system, so that inks can also be changed quickly.

The press, which comes with full servo drive technology, is also equipped with cooled impression cylinders, leading to excellent substrate flexibility, according to Gallus.
