Indian label printer Label Kingdom has installed its second Heidelberg press - a large format Speedmaster CD 102 six-colour with coater. Last year the company installed an A3 format Speedmaster SM 52 four-colour press.

Chennai based Label Kingdom was established in 1987 growing from a business operation of five people and a single production unit, to employing 150 people with two major facilities in Channai.

K.V Prasad, owner of Label Kingdom says, “Packaging is the future and of late the demand for the packaging jobs is growing at a rapid pace as compared to commercial jobs. These changing demands call for an optimal solution.”

He adds, “That is why I preferred Speedmaster CD 102 which delivers quality coupled with flexibility and exceptional cost efficiency. Additionally, it takes care of the commercial jobs with equal ease.”

Heidelberg says the Speedmaster CD 102's versatility in commercial to packaging job changeovers make it the perfect response to today's changing market demands. Speedmaster CD 102 is a perfect combination of top class technology, consistent and reliable mechanism which suits every need of a print buyer.

Amongst various salient features of the Speedmaster Prasad says he is particularly appreciative of its preset-plus-feeder which ensures the sheet is lying flat at the front lays using venture-technology, automatic sheet arrival control, contact-free sheet travel and speed compensated rotary valve for sheet separation.

On immediate expansion plans Prasad says, “We shall be integrating our prepress with the CD 102 press; transferring ink zone data to the press automatically, thereby increasing the overall productivity by further reducing the wastage and job turnaround times.”
