During the Awards of excellence, which were held alongside last week’s Auspack, the Australian Packaging Machinery Association (APMA) announced Rebecca Du as the inaugural winner of its annual scholarship programme. The prize enables a person each year to study an Australian Institute of Packaging (AIP) Diploma in Packaging Technology.

Rob Lawrence, chairman of the APMA, announced that Rebecca Du, who is a packaging engineer for Amcor Fibre Packaging, has been in the packaging industry for more than 10 years. He adds that Du has shown she is dedicated to her career through both her academic and employment records.

He says, “Rebecca is committed to furthering her education and applying the knowledge gained from the Diploma in Packaging Technology to benefit the wider packaging industry. She is supported strongly by her employer who has always supported staff advancing their packaging education.”

Lawrence continues, “Rebecca’s painstaking attitude towards good practice in packaging, her studies, perseverance and enterprising spirit will take her a long way in her chosen field.”

Rebecca will commence her Diploma in Packaging Technology this year and both the APMA and the AIP say they look forward to seeing her graduate.
