Heidelberg to supply W+D palletisers

foil  Heidelberg
Heidelberg is to incorporate the universal palletisers of Winkler+Dünnebier into its product portfolio, with the aim of selling the products exclusively to the folding carton and printing industries.

The palletisers will continue to be sold under the brand name Winkler+Dünnebier. A contract to this effect was recently signed by both companies. The palletisers will primarily be marketed for packaging customers.

The universal palletisers can be customised to meet the specific requirements of individual customers. Depending on the customers' needs, the systems are available in single or multi-place versions in a compact design. Palletisers from W+D boast high flexibility, which enables additional functions such as the application of slipsheets, films or pallet proofs. Additional benefits include high process reliability, optimum product feed technology and a fully-automatic format changeover.

John Harrison, HAN Product Manager - Packaging Solutions says, "With ever-tightening profit margins, carton manufacturers are keen to investigate opportunities to maintain profitability. The automated palletising units from Winkler + Dunnebier are designed to maximise carton manufacturing efficiency and makes a perfect complement to our Heidelberg Diana carton folder gluers, and any other folder gluer line for that matter".

The Heidelberg Diana carton folder gluers are recognised by many as one of the fastest, most productive folder gluers currently available. When combined with a pre-feeder and automated system for packing the carton blanks into the corrugated outers, the process of palletising by hand becomes an arduous and repetitive task for an operator to perform.

Harrison says, "Automated palletising provides a variety of benefits to the carton manufacturer including improved efficiency, consistent quality, reduced cost per carton blank, safer working environment, improved load accuracy, tighter more uniform pallets and reduced handling related product damage."
