Hannapak showed its new manroland 700 with inline foiler at an industry event this week, which attracted both sheetfed and web offset commercial printers to the Richmond factory.

The new press is the first of its kind in the country, and one of 50 so far sold by the giant German press manufacturer. The press is a Roland 700 with the striking foiling unit being located on the second unit.

The first unit lays down a glue according to where the foil should go, then the foil on a web is laid on the second print unit, units 3-6 are for process printing, unit eight is for coating. The press can also run as a standard offset press, and is equipped with QuickChange for fast makeready.

Sam Hanna, sales and marketing director of Hannapak says, “For many years we have been successful with manroland technology, we are careful to choose the very best solutions for our business and our customers. This latest investment with its inline print enhancement not only expands our product portfolio but it also increases our added value offering to our customers.”

The press installed by Hannapak is a highly specified 700 series, with the inline foiling, but also inline camera for bad sheet detection, and inline waste sheet eject.

Speaking at the event manroland board member Dr Markus Rall says, “Australia seems a more optimistic environment than much of Europe, and this is reflected in the likes of Hannapak making this significant investment. We believe the future for print is bright, notwithstanding the current crisis, which in some markets is coming to an end.”

Rall outlined manroland's twin goals in press development of increasing efficiencies and provided added value solutions, goals he said were 'perfectly summed up in the Hannpak press.”

Steve Dunwell, managing director of manroland Australasia professed himself delighted to be carrying on the long relationship manroland has enjoyed with Hannapak, he says, “We are proud to partner one of the most advanced printers in the country.”
