During last week’s Australian Institute of Packaging (AIP) National Technical Forums, Ian Fletcher was awarded life membership to the AIP for his long-standing contribution to the industry.
According to Craig Wellman, national president of the AIP, Fletcher has been a member of the Institute for close to thirty five years and in that time has contributed significantly to both the Victorian Branch and the National Board.Wellman says, “Ian has been a tireless volunteer for the AIP for so long now that Victorian Branch won’t be the same without him. The extensive hours of volunteering he has put in to his Branch alone make him most suitable for life membership of the AIP.”
He continues, “Ian has now resigned from all AIP committees and is looking forward to spending more time with his family. On behalf of the AIP National Board we congratulate Ian Fletcher for receiving this honour and for only being the third person in our history to be honoured in such a way. “
Meanwhile, Ron Mines, who has been the AIP national secretary for the last four years, was also honoured for his contribution to the AIP by receiving a Distinguished Service Award during Auspack.
