Delegates at this month’s PrintNZ Ink in Our Veins centenary conference will get a look at developments in print from two overseas experts.

The conference, whose principal sponsors are Fuji Xerox, Heidelberg, Hostmann Steinberg NZ, and Spicers Paper, takes place from October 13-15 at Wairakei Resort near Taupo.

Technology experts Jens Knoebl (Heidelberg) and Mitch Mulligan (Böttcher Systems) will between them outline the latest developments in both print process and carbon footprint reduction at the Ink In Our Veins annual printing industry conference.

Knoebl, who has been involved in research and development, product management and special applications with Heidelberg for over 10 years, will deliver two sessions during the conference.

During Monday’s ‘Print: It’s More Than You Think’ workshop, targeted at print-buyers and newcomers to the industry, Knoebl will address the topic of “great things you can do with print” from 3.45pm-4.30pm. On Wednesday between 11.40am-12.30pm, he will provide technical “know-how” on the latest in printing developments.

Mulligan, a director of Böttcher Systems in Australia, will explore and demonstrate proven methods and strategies to achieving a sustainable future in the pressroom during his session from 1pm-1.50pm on Tuesday. During the past 20 years Mr Mulligan has been involved in various technical sales roles, specialising in press product applications.

Conference manager Sue Archibald says, “Delegates from all around New Zealand are expected to attend the Ink In Our Veins conference, representing all sectors of the New Zealand print industry. Places are still available for the conference sessions and for the golf and fishing trips planned for Monday October 13, but people are urged to make their bookings as quickly as possible to avoid disappointment.” She can be contacted on (021) 663-881. Visit www.printnz.co.nz for conference brochures.
