The 2009 New Zealand Sign and Display awards has attracted a record 419 entries, according to the New Zealand Sign and Display Association.

The NZSDA says that awards judges, Chris Field, Bryan Hills and Les Berridge, have identified the 70 plus winners in the 16 classes, which range from vehicles, point of sale, through to dimensional signs and works by apprentices. The NZSDA says that the awards are about recognising the diverse and broad spectrum of fields of endeavour its members operate within.

A formal function will take place this Friday April 24 at the Hawkes Bay Opera House in Hastings. Former world squash champion Dame Susan Devoy will handle MC duties at the event. NZSDA says and tickets for the function are available from the awards convenor for $160, which includes a served three course meal, entertainment, selected beer, wines and soft drinks.
