Pride In Print tickets going fast

awards  Pride in Print  competitions

Organisers of the Pride In Print Awards say that, with less than 50 tickets remaining, the door will soon close on entry to the event, set down for the Langham Hotel in Auckland on June 29.

Sue Archibald, awards manager for Pride in Print, says, “Demand for tickets has been strong throughout and the excitement has grown as we get closer to finding out who is going to be carrying off the prizes this year. It’s time for the hard work put in last year to be recognised, and this is the time to let our hair down in celebration.”

Mike McRoberts, TV3 anchor and reporter and singer Jackie Clarke will MC the evening. Archibald says, “The evening will follow the same successful tight format that has been followed in recent years, with the Awards presented in a single room over dinner with more focus on the winners – particularly the Supreme, Category and Process Winners -- with the intention of seeing the Awards and dinner complete by about 10pm, leaving the crowd to enjoy networking, entertainment and dancing until the early hours.”

The 2012 Pride In Print theme, Print Out Loud, mirrors the decision to switch the Awards publication for 2012 from an A5 handbook style to a tabloid newspaper. She says, “The decision to run a tabloid is about the printing industry being proud, being noticed and being heard. The design of the publication will follow that theme, using bold messaging and images to create a greater impact.

“The value of the publication as a sales and marketing tool will be hugely boosted by an increase in print run from 2000 to 30,000. This is consistent with the message of promoting the print industry as an effective and sustainable media channel.”

She points out the importance of the award’s patrons and sponsors. The patrons: Aarque Group, Fuji Xerox, Heidelberg, Hostmann-Steinberg and Spicers Paper. The sponsors: 3M New Zealand, Agfa Graphics, AM International Limited, APM New Zealand Ltd, B&F Papers Ltd, BJ Ball Group, Blue Print Imaging Ltd, Canon New Zealand Ltd, DIC New Zealand, Fujifilm NZ Ltd, Kodak NZ, Muller Martini Australia PTY Ltd and Norkse Skog Tasman Ltd.

Tickets cost $185 plus gst and can be ordered through Pride In Print.
