Panprint, a division of Blue Star Group New Zealand, has won awards in two categories at the World Label Awards, competing with entries from the USA, Japan, Europe, Australia and India.
The company won awards in the class 11 offset line screen and class 10 offset line categories for the wine labels Totara Sauvignon Blanc 2010 and Full Circle Sauvignon Blanc 2010. John Lowther, general manager of Panprint, says, “We’re proud of the quality of work we produce at Panprint, and these awards are recognition of all the hard work our staff put in.”
Panprint employs 27 full-time staff and recently upgraded its facilities as part of a move to a new site in Mt Wellington, after 54 years operating in Panmure. It says the new facility will be the most modern label printing facility in New Zealand once fully operational, with the latest in wide web printing equipment technology from Europe.
Lowther says, “The management and staff are excited to be moving to the premises where they can use the latest printing technology. In addition, the company will make significant cost savings through more efficient production flow, lighting and air conditioning at the new address.”
David Jupe, chief executive Blue Star New Zealand, says, “This is a historic occasion for Panprint. The awards prove again why it is one of our most awarded print companies, while the move to a new high-quality leading edge printing facility will bring even greater achievements for it.”
Established in 1956, Panprint supplies to the wine, food and pharmaceutical industries, gaining a reputation for quality and a can do attitude. Customers include well know New Zealand companies such as Pernod Ricard (Brancott Estate, Stoneleigh), Mudhouse Wines, Mt Riley, Marisco Vineyards and Endeavour Vineyards. Panprint claims more wins than any other printing company at the Pride in Print Awards with 62 gold medals and 132 highly commended, having made supreme award finalist on three occasions and once a supreme award winner.
Lowther adds, “It is a testament to the staff’s belief in the company that they have consistently produced high standard of work over the years that has won several awards.”
The World Label Awards welcomes entries in 27 categories from with the criteria for entry being that each entry must have won a national award first.
