NZPPA invites Green MP to its last meeting

waste management  environment
The last thing likely to ring in the ears of members of the New Zealand Paperboard Packaging Association members this year, may be the words of dreadlocked Green MP Nandor Tancoz who’s been asked to speak about his Waste Minimisation Bill.

The NZPPA have invited him to tell them where the select committee is up to in deciding the Bill's fate. Both the NZ Paper Forum and NZPPA made submissions on the Bill recently.

NZPPA Executive Officer, Ashley Chisholm says they are also expecting him to discuss other topics with a focus on environmental issues.

"Both organisations have been focusing on environmental issues over the course of this year as the NZPPA is the paper signatory to the Packaging Accord."

The joint final meeting of the NZPPA and the NZ Paper Forum will be held at the Ellerslie Novotel on November 27.

The New Zealand Paperboard and Packaging Association (NZPPA) represents the fibre based packaging industry.

NZPPA members produce around 85% by volume or weight of this type of packaging produced in New Zealand.

The industry also provides a recycling network for all domestic and imported paper and paperboard and the products made from the recycled materials are used mainly in corrugated box board fluting and moulded fibre products, such as egg cartons.
