HP and AM International have extended an invitation for printers to attend an open house featuring the seven colour HP Indigo 5500 digital press at the AM International showroom, Unit 1, 9 Orbit Drive Albany, on Auckland’s North Shore, from April 7 - 9.

The open house will comprise a series of private demonstrations held over the three days.

AM International says the open house has several objectives: to enable printers to see the HP Indigo technology up close; to allow printers to ask questions of the product experts in a one on one situation; to let printers discuss market opportunities for digital print; and to have printers run their own files to road test the technology.

Troy Wood, digital business manager AM International, says, “These demonstrations are aimed at giving printers some quality time with the press and with HP and AM International personnel.”

Wood comments that digital print, especially the HP Indigo, can help printers grow their business. He says, "Digital printing enables print buyers to order what they need now. This is particularly relevant in the current trading climate where companies are looking to reduce costs and minimise wastage. Even in today’s tough environment, pages printed on the New Zealand HP Indigo install base are growing at 50 percent,”

Wood adds that the versatility of digital print gives printers the opportunity to drive growth in new markets. He says, “Variable data is an ideal example. The use of variable data – images, text and figures – is on the rise particularly in marketing campaigns where personalisation is a key differentiator. HP Indigo digital presses make it possible to print high quality full colour variable data campaigns competitively and profitably.”

Rob West, from HP Indigo, will also be at the open house events at the AM International Showroom. He says, “The AM International Open House is the ideal opportunity for printers to see the HP Indigo 5500 in action and discover how including a digital offer to their existing business can enable them to drive growth.
