Print and finishing solutions company GBC has announced its move back into the New Zealand market under its own banner.

Matt Carter, general manager GBC New Zealand, explains how his company became GBC New Zealand. He says, “I had purchased the print solutions company Impact Clipbind, and I was looking for new challenges at the same time that GBC expressed an interest in modifying its distribution channels. GBC wanted its brand driven more strongly and looked around for possible partners. It researched the New Zealand market and it could see that Impact Clipbind had synergies and a broad presence in the market place. So it chose Impact Clipbind as the one to drive the brand.”

The changeover occurred on April 1 and Carter has been visiting printers nationwide explaining that Impact Clipbind now trades as GBC. He says, “I’ll still be out on the road talking with printers for a while. I’m very excited about the new opportunities for us, especially in the lamination side of the business, which had had previously been sold by Jenrite. Now that’s coming back under the GBC banner, we see huge opportunities there to grow. The new relationship has opened up access to a whole new range of products that we haven’t had previously. We’ve set up a web site at www.gbcnz.co.nz”

Carter says the main push for GBC will be in the print finishing machinery market. He says, “Primarily, we’re looking at laminating machines, guillotines, paper folders, creasers, staplers and drills, large format printers, and mail processing equipment.”

He emphasises that the focus for the company remains on New Zealanders and in New Zealand. He says, “GBC New Zealand is a family owned kiwi company, so the profits stay here in New Zealand.”
