Epson says by using Onyx it will be delivering quality out-of-the-box software solutions, for the indoor and outdoor signage market within the large-format inkjet printing industry.
Users can create indoor or outdoor graphics with accurate and consistent colors using Onyx ProductionHouseT, Onyx PosterShop, and Onyx RIPCenterT V7 software packages. Onyx Graphics workflow solutions include key features such as Pantone Spot Color Matching, Contour Cutting Workflow and Automatic Job Nesting, which enhance the performance capabilities of these printers. Onyx says the software dramatically extends colour gamut, as well as accuracy and consistency, by taking full advantage of Epson's newly developed UltraChrome K3 ink with Vivid Magenta technology.
Craig Heckenberg, business solutions manager at Epson says, "Epson's leadership in the print-for-pay market will be strengthened by our global alliance with Onyx. In Australia and New Zealand we will continue to pursue and develop partnership opportunities that we believe will benefit our customers".
Hiroshi Sotokawa, general manager of Epson's Inkjet Business Product Planning Department says, "This alliance between Epson and Onyx has allowed us to combine our newly developed Epson Stylus Pro printers with Onyx workflow software products in order to address the diversifying needs of print-for-pay users in the best possible way", adding, "I'm confident that this new combination of technologies will set a new standard for wide format printing."
Epson is just launching its new range of wide format printers, and says its new 64 inch Stylus Pro 11880 large format printer with UltraChrome K3 ink with Vivid Magenta sets a benchmark for outstanding print quality combined with fast print speeds for colour critical printing applications.
These include retail point-of-sale displays, contract and imposition proofing, photography, limited edition fine art print making and detailed colour maps.
According to Epson several new productivity enhancing features make the Stylus Pro 11880 one of the fastest and easiest to use photo quality large format printers on the market. These include the new MicroPiezo TFP (Thin Film Piezo) print head with 360 nozzles for each of the nine ink cartridges, active Photo and Matte black inks, high capacity 700 ml ink cartridges, professional media handling capabilities from A4 to 64 inch wide rolls, automatic nozzle check technology, and improved image processing algorithms.
The Epson Stylus Pro 11880 will be available in October with a recommended price of: $22,995 excluding gst.
The Stylus Pro 11880 is the first Epson printer to have the new MicroPiezo TFP (Thin Film Piezo) print head with 360 nozzles per inch for each of the nine active ink cartridges. It has been finely tuned with the new Epson UltraChrome K3 ink with Vivid Magenta to precisely control dot shape, size and placement for the highest image quality possible.
Epson's new Image Processing Technology further improves Epson's outstanding grey scale stability - the core requirement for accurate colour printing - by reducing colour twist, which brings out greater detail in shadows and supports stable shadow gradation across all tones.
As a result of Epson's technology innovations in the Stylus Pro 11880 this printer is up to 2.6 times faster than previous printers.
Dean Derhak, product director for Onyx Graphics says, "We are pleased to be working with Seiko Epson, a global technology leader in inkjet printing. This agreement represents a commitment to the customer from both companies, to deliver the professional tools needed to create the high quality prints required in many print-for-pay applications."
