Duplo Corporation has launched its DBM-350/T automatic bookletmaker and trimmer, the company’s first bookletmaker to feature an integrated book spine press that Duplo says is designed to reduce costs and to allow users to bring finishing operations in house.

Masahide Wada, product manager, global marketing group at Duplo Corporation, says, “The Duplo DBM-350/T bookletmaker and trimmer provides an automatic, fast and highly productive solution that can produce different styles of booklets with no fuss, making it ideal for modern creative bookletmaking requirements. Available at a competitive price the DBM-350/T allows inplants, printing departments, digital and commercial printers to bring these finishing operations in house, helping them to reduce costs and turnaround times.”

Duplo says its new machine is capable of producing up to 3,000 A5 booklets per hour, accommodating a range of on-demand applications such as CD and DVD covers through to A4 and A3 booklets of up to 80 pages. According to the company, the settings of the spine press can be adjusted to match the thickness of the booklet. It can produce centre-stitched, saddle-stitched or folded products, and an optional corner stitch kit offers the opportunity to process side-stitched and corner-stitched applications.

The company adds that the machine’s touch screen panel assists in ease of operation. By entering job parameters, stitch, fold and trim positions are automatically adjusted. The touch screen panel guides operators through the set up process and can memorise up to 20 jobs.
