Record: Fespa’s 360sqm jigsaw
Record: Fespa’s 360sqm jigsaw
cutting  printing - digital  printing - large format

Fespa will create the world’s largest digitally produced jigsaw puzzle at the Fespa World Expo Asia-Pacific 2008, in collaboration with the Thailand Exhibition and Convention Bureau (TCEB) and digital wide format specialists Fujifilm Sericol, Industrial Cutting Services (ICS), Zünd and Halifax Vogel.

Fespa’s 360sqm jigsaw with the image of Bangkok Exhibition City will break the current world record of 340sqm, the federation adds its will be created using Fujifilm Sericol’s Acuity HD 2504 printer. Once printed, ICS with Zünd will complete the final stage of the project by cutting the giant puzzle pieces with the digital Zünd CNC Knife Cutting Machine.

Because the jigsaw will be displayed outside the exhibition hall during Fespa World Expo Asia- Pacific 2008, Fujifilm Sericol will digitally print the image onto Imageboard, an all-purpose, UV stabilised, waterproof, acid-free, all-weather graphic arts board suitable for screen- and digital printing, supplied by Halifax Vogel, according to Fespa.

The federation continues that innovation in digital wide format printing technologies, substrates and cutting have now made it possible to produce highly creative output never previously thought possible.

The jigsaw is an example of the flexibility of digital, the creativity and collaborative commitment of partners to show the power of large format digital printing that other technology cannot perform, according to Fespa.
