Conference attracts top international print speakers

Printing Industries
Last year’s PrintNZ keynote speaker Margie Dana's Print Buyers International has announced the speakers for its US Print Buyers conference in November, a line-up that has impressed PrintNZ CEO Joan Grace enough to signal her intention of attending.

Headlining the Massachusetts conference in early November will be Frank Romano and Dr Joe Webb, director of WhatTheyThink.com's Economics and Research Center. The two men will co-delivered the keynote dinner address.

Dr Webb is one of the printing industry's most highly regarded economists, consultants, forecasters, and commentators. Romano is the well-known author, educator, industry speaker, and "friend to every print customer." He delivered the keynote address at the first annual print buyer's conference held in the US last year.

Joan Grace says she looking forward to meeting Frank Romano "who continues to challenge the industry to consider its future. Likewise, the session with Don Carli, Institute of Sustainable Communication, is important.

"In a small country like New Zealand, it will be helpful to see how the printing industry in a much larger economy is addressing environmental sustainability. I am also looking forward to meeting with the print buyer delegates -- what do they want from our industry? -- are we delivering it? "

Other speakers include Derek Awalt, Global Product manager, Halftone Proofing, Kodak Graphic Communications Group; Nick Patrissi, senior marketing manager, Kodak Graphic Communications Group; Jack Miller, senior consultant, North America, Pira International; Bob Wagner, vice president, Xerox; Brian Rooney, chief technology officer, Pantone; Michael Riordan, assistant professor at RIT's School of Print Media and James Lockman, Adobe.
