A winner has been named after internet votes were tallied in Spicers Paper’s Pimp My Paper competition where designers and creatives made custom versions of specially created cardbots.
Ella Gunness, creative director at Parnell design agency Spook, won the competition with her customised Sauce-Bot. Akriti Malhotra from PMP Maxum in Viaduct Harbour, took out second place with King-Bot; followed by John Morris, from Communication Arts in Wellington, with Gorilla-Bot. Fourth place went to Jason Povey from Calders Design and Print in Whangarei, with his Cow-Bot.
Gunness won a MAC Book Air and the others each won an iPod Nano. All four winning Cardbots will be printed according to each winner’s specifications and everyone involved in the competition will receive one of these limited-edition creations. Anyone requesting a specialty paper sample from Spicers Paper over the next few months will also get a winning Bot.
Carolyn Lockstone, marketing manager at Spicers, says organisers were overwhelmed by the massive response to the promotion with more than 1,200 votes and 100 entries received, and thanked all those who took part.
