Xerox widens wide format portfolio

Fuji Xerox  printing - large format
Xerox announced last week that it is increasing its portfolio of wide-format colour printers with two new offerings. The new systems allow print providers to produce large format applications such as full-colour banners, presentation graphics and vehicle wraps.

The Xerox 8265/8290 and 8365/8390 Color Wide Format Printers, designed for commercial printers and in-plant operations, are available in 65- and 90-inch models.

The new printers open up an entirely new set of high-value print jobs for customers looking to complement their current capabilities or enter the expanding graphic communications colour wide-format market.

The 8265/8290 printer is compatible with a wide range of media types and produces vibrant graphics on indoor and outdoor point-of-purchase displays, banners, life-size photos and floor graphics.

The printers use a combination of inkjet technology and environmentally-friendly eco-solvent inks, which means no ventilation or purification systems are required during production and prints can last up to three years without lamination.

The 8265/8290 print at resolutions that range from 360 to 1440 dpi at typical-quality production speeds from 162 to 215sq ft per hour.

Xerox says the opportunity to meet the standard printing needs of clients often opens the door to sell additional services, such as wide-format applications to complement the current work being produced.

Designed specifically for outdoor applications, the Xerox 8365/8390 uses mild solvent-based inks to reliably produce durable images that can stand up to the elements.

The inks for the 8365/8390 are waterproof, highly abrasion resistant and UV stable to allow printed images to last up to three years without the need for any form of protection.

The 8300 family can print directly onto a wide variety of low-cost, uncoated materials, such as adhesive film and banner material, at resolutions that range from 360 to 720 dpi at typical quality production speeds from 162 to 215sq ft per hour.

Both the 8200 and 8300 series use piezo-electric, drop-on-demand inkjet heads with dynamic variable dot imaging and intelligent interweaving print technology to deliver sharp images, smooth colour transitions and increased performance with higher firing frequencies.

Users can choose the Xerox Wide Format Color Server Pro RIP or Xerox Wide Format Color Server RIP as color server options.
