X-Rite/Pantone to demo PantoneLive at drupa

X-Rite and its subsidiary, Pantone, will showcase their solutions for measuring and communicating colours in digital workflows for the prepress, print, publishing and converting industries on stand D023, Hall 5 at drupa.

X-Rite and Pantone representatives will demonstrate how any stakeholder – from brand owner and specifier to designer and pressroom operator – can achieve higher efficiencies and improved quality through standardised and automated workflows, with precise colour management solutions.

Stand visitors will experience hands-on demonstrations of the complete range of products, hear live presentations of case studies and obtain first-hand information on the new solutions.

"I think it's fair to say that no vendor in the graphic arts industry knows colour reference and management like X-Rite/Pantone," says X-Rite senior vice president of Sales and Marketing, Vic Stalam. "Our introductions at drupa 2012 – new platforms for measurement, enhanced colour libraries and integrated colour communications solutions – offer the most exciting and complete package of new colour tools for graphic arts and printing in the company’s history."

Building upon Pantone’s expertise as a colour authority and X-Rite’s colour and science technology credentials, X-Rite and Pantone have launched PantoneLIVE, a dynamic ecosystem that delivers consistent colour across the entire packaging workflow – from design concept to retail store shelves.

The UK-based subsidiary of food giant HJ Heinz Co recently turned to PantoneLive to help bring colour consistency to its trademark Heinz Beanz turquoise across different substrates.

"Across all of our packaging formats, we saw a reduction in colour variance of 50 per cent and saved time by establishing one colour target that can be applied to all our Heinz Beanz designs," sayes Nigel Dickie, director of corporate and government affairs for Heinz. "The results with our Beanz packaging have been so remarkable – that we plan to extend PantoneLIve to additional product lines, including Heinz soups and Spaghetti Hoops.”

Other highlights of the show include demonstrations of:

  • i1Pro 2 coloor management solutions including the newly enhanced i1Pro 2 spectrophotometer that provides an even higher level of accuracy, versatility, ergonomics, functionality and value than i1 Pro. Combined with recently released i1Profiler software v1.3, the new i1Pro 2 portfolio meets the unique needs of prepress, digital printing and photography imaging professionals;
  • A new spectrophotometer platform that incorporates the latest touch-and-swipe navigation technology and intuitive software to make colour measurements quick and easy for pressroom personnel, including ways to monitor and control colour the new and emerging ISO standards; and
  • New products from Pantone that expand its colour libraries, plus additional solutions from X-Rite specifically targeted for prepress, print, publishing and converting industries

The new spectrophotometer platforms are equipped with the X-Rite Graphic Arts Standard (XRGA) to make it quicker and easier for companies and professionals involved in digital production printing to adhere to ISO standards and have confidence that data sent or received from all links in the supply chain is reliable and repeatable.
