Category Winners cover the following areas:
Gravure Printing, Flexographic Printing, Paperboard Packaging, Web Offset, Screen Printing, Sheetfed Printing, Labels, Business Forms, Digital Printing, Specialist Products & Processes, and Industry Development.
The new look 2005 entry form, which is now available, has been reformatted to reflect the changes necessary to announce the category winning entries.
Why the change? Success at the awards carries many marketing opportunities for winning companies. The committee wants to continue to capitalise on these opportunities and to let the industry know who, in their area, has come so close to the Supreme Award. The ability to publicise this fact will be another marketing tool. A ‘Category Winner Award’ gives those companies the opportunity to market the “Top Job” for the Year in their respective fields.
Another exciting change is the Industry Development category. In 1993 the Awards were set up to promote the print industry to the New Zealand print market and have continued to look for opportunities to do exactly this ever since. Awards Manager, Sue Archibald sees this category as the area whereby the Awards publicity team can further industry initiatives in getting the information out to the print buying community.
Archibald says: “New Zealanders are very innovative and we come across many great stories of what a printer has done to achieve an end result for a customer and how this can sometimes open up new markets for them. Often this information comes out after the Awards have been announced and often many weeks after the results are made public. We would like to be in the position to help promote the industry as a business development partner to many companies successes by providing the ability to work together to produce a product that can either revive an existing market or open new doors.
“The committee believes this category will highlight these stories earlier. This will enable the promotional opportunities offered by the Awards to be taken full advantage of. After all this is what it is all about – ‘Knowledge is Power’ to the entry, judges and promotional team.
