Canon and Océ are to form a new professional printing division with Simon Wheeler, currently managing director of Océ to head the new division.
The new division, Canon Professional Printing (CPP) will commence operations from January 1 next year. According to Canon it will provide professional printing customers with the industry’s most comprehensive product range, bringing together current Océ Australia operations and Canon’s Production Printing Systems (PPS), Large Format Printing (LFP) and Commercial Inkjet (DreamLabo) teams.
Wheeler has joined Canon’s Australia’s senior leadership team with immediate effect effective and will lead the new CPP division when it commences operation in 2013. In the meantime he will continue to lead the Océ Australia business.
Canon says its customers will see few changes to the day to day operations of the Canon PPS, LFP and Commercial Inkjet teams as they will remain in their current business units until the end of the year.
Taz Nakamasu, managing director, Canon Australia says, “By combining the strengths of Canon Australia and Océ Australia we create an industry leading offer for our customers as we capitalise on a complementary fit in product mix, channel mix, R&D and business lines across the professional print and office equipment and solutions markets,” said.
