Varn launches Direct Damp

Varn/day  dampening  product launch 
Demonstrations of Varn’s new Direct Damp fount solution for Heidelberg’s Direct Dampening System on the Varn’s stand at PrintEx03. The company put the product through its paces on its patented Kompac Dampening System, which the fount solution is also designed for. The Kompac technology provides the press operator with automatic ink/water balance with only the ink keys requiring adjustment from job to job. The system completely rebalances itself at each revolution and carries only the amount of ink and water demanded by the image on the plate, providing instant start-up and trouble free runs. It also providing the operator with an 20 per cent increase in productivity, a 50 per cent reduction in stock waste, reduction of ghosting and repeating and ink/water balance within five impressions.

According to Varn, this new sheetfed fount eliminates the need for additional alcohol to be added, although it is compatible should the need arise. It is also said t reduce waste, improve ink/water balance is compatible with the majority of available inks, stocks and water conditions, and has an economical dosage of between two and four per cent.
