Artarmon-based printer The Printing Department, has gone into voluntary administration. Meanwhile, digital printer Rapid Digital also in Artarmon has also gone into voluntary administration, however management told Australian Printer they are still printing as usual.

Michael Liley, managing director and owner of The Printing Department - who has owned The Printing Department for just nine months - confirmed the situation however he declined to comment on details. Likewise, a Rapid Digital Spokesperson also refrained to comment.

The Printing Department has a fleet of nine printing presses and also features in-house graphic design services and a binding and finishing department.

Running Fujix Xerox iGen3s, Rapid Digital specialises in long-run digital print jobs, quality reproductions and rapid turnaround times as well as offering variable data printing to clients.
