SOS Print + Media has won the tender for the NSW Local Government election printing, with the job requiring around eight million State, Council, Mayoral, Poll and Referendum ballot papers to be printed in a two week period.
Previously printed by Blue Star the job went out to tender in the autumn. SOS is set to start printing the two colour job on August 8, with postal ballot papers due at the State's returning officers by August 15, and the bulk of the job due August 22.
Bob Gardner, director of SOS says, "We start downloading the files on August 8, proof, and then print as soon as we can after that. The papers have to be sent in ward by ward packages so it is a complex job, but with the help of our in house IT team we were able to build a modern solution to manage print, packaging and logistics, which will be used for this and other upcoming major projects. A step-by-step quality control service has been integrated to ensure 100 per cent accuracy."
