Scout pulling crowds

Aldus  drying  rollers - offset  UV  product launch  printing - flexo
Aldus Graftek had the Mark Andy Scout UV flexo press as the centrepiece of its stand, and saw the US built press strike a nerve with the many label printers at the show. Aldus marketing director Peter Sage said the press had been a revelation to many visitors, with its low price and high quality proving a winning combination. Coming in at well below $400,000 and with anilox rollers producing 1200lpi, the Scout is making the most of the latest advances in UV technology, with drying and inks all moving on apace. Also making a splash on the Aldus Graftek stand was the Rotaflex ALIS label inspection system. The fully automated system inspects 100 per cent of labels, rather than inspecting labels at random. Mr Sage says it sees colour changes, registration and missing components of the logo.
