Chris Palamara was appointed Victorian general manager of Australia’s largest laminating coating company, Allkotes. While Palamara is new to the laminating and print finishing side of the industry, he has over 20 years management experience at some of Australia’s most prominent printing companies.

Past roles include division director of operations at Argyle Times and a series of senior management positions at PMP and Wilke Directories in Victoria. Within these positions Palamara was exposed to many processes, particularly in the areas of magazine and book directory production.

“Print Finishing is no different to the printing industry as a whole in terms of the challenges ahead which are being driven by the need for rationalisation and the installation of new technology,” he says. “Allkotes is ahead of the game and is working hard with its people, computer systems and new machinery to keep up with the growing needs of the printers.”

Palamara will responsible for all of Allkotes’ operations in Victoria and will be based at Ringwood. He says he’s excited about taking the plant through the next growth phase.

“Allkotes has invested heavily in new machinery in areas of laminating, coating and foil stamping in the Ringwood plant and it is important that the company takes advantage of this new technology,” he says.

“Our business is all about turnarounds and our focus will be on giving our customers the best service available so that they can meet the needs of what has become a very demanding client base.”
