Omet introduces the new Peel & Seal unit

labels  product launch  Omet
Omet has developed Peel & Seal, a new function for its presses which allows inline production of superimposed labels. Peel & Seal is a unit composed of various components that interlays itself between the common printing section and the finishing parts of the label press.

Omet says the most important advantage offered by this new unit is the possibility of manufacture in-line superimposed labels on base labels starting from a single material roll, it being either paper or adhesive Bopp.

They are particular labels that are used on various products, such as foodstuff, cosmetics, cleansing agents, and allowing manufacturing information labels, while the upper label promotes the product, on its inside you can read for instance the features of the same in a deeper way. The advantage is therefore the one of having a lot of information on a single label.

The Peel & Seal label is produced in a width that is equal to half the starting base material: so for example applying the Peel & Seal unit to a machine having a web width of 420mm will require a Peel & Seal label having a width of 210mm. Print is normally carried out with UV and/or water-based inks, keeping in mind that for UV print a cooling drum is needed if polypropylene is printed.

Omet has applied this new unit on its Flexy machine and it can be retrofitted to most Omet presses.
