Omet changeover

Italian narrow web press manufacturer Omet has launched a major innovation for its presses, Twin Cut, which it says is a new system to allow the manufacture of all formats without changing the magnetic cylinders. The company says this means the end of cylinders in stock, and the end of cylinder changeover time. Omet says Twin-Cut ensures constant speed of the material, the material thickness does not affect the register performance, and it enables a die cutting system to be used for both folding carton and self adhesive labels. Omet has also launched what Australian supplier DKHS national sales manager Tom Ralph describes as a ‘significant time saver’ in the EPC automated plate cleaner wash-up system, which he described as particularly beneficial for shorter run lengths. Omet says it will increase productivity by up to 20 per cent.
