International paper and packaging group has announced its offset paper and board is now Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) certified.

Mondi says this certification is a vital aspect of its operations, which it claims is fully transparent and subject to regular assessment by independent accreditation organisations. FSC and PEFC certification provides widely recognised evidence of our commitment to sustainable practices.

Mark Ushpol, sales and marketing director for Mondi Uncoated Fine Paper says, “We can now expand our portfolio of FSC and PEFC certified grades now to the offset product world. With our green range products we are improving our sustainability performance.”

Mondi uses the FSC and PEFC chain of custody certification schemes to track raw materials supplies. They comprise a transparent and accountable process through every step from the forest to the consumer.

From growing, harvesting and purchasing raw materials, through industrial production processes to branding and distribution, Mondi claims it is committed to providing customers with the products they need at the lowest possible financial, environmental and social cost.

The company’s offset paper is available in a wide range of formats and basis weights and meets all the requirements with respect to further processing, including punching and embossing.
