Melbourne scores first 6060

Fuji Xerox  typeface  business planning  converting  printing - digital
Typographical Services has the distinction of being the first Australian installation site of Fuji Xerox’s latest digital colour press, the DocuColor 6060. The purchase is part of the company’s metamorphosis from prepress house into a commercial printer with both offset and digital printing foci. According to Michael Berry, Typographical Services director, the new digital press allows the company to expand into the printing arena while also tackling the increasing demand for short-run printing jobs.

"The DocuColor really fits in well with today’s short-run printing demand, delivering high speeds teamed with fantastic, high-quality colour," says Berry.

"The versatility of the DocuColor 6060 is incredible, allowing us to throughput a whole variety of paper stocks, which will enable us to tackle some new applications and new markets in the future. It also fits in perfectly with Typographical Services’ existing digital and offset printing equipment."

The feeling towards the new printer at Typographical Services is a positive one, with all staff feeling that it is easy to use and runs very smoothly, allowing them to print the company’s staple of brochures, flyers and double-sided books for its advertising agency and graphic design clientele.

"The DocuColor 6060 is so easy to use and the staff love it. The files run through the imposition feature in Creo’s RIP and the calibration units are very straightforward. It’s really that easy," says Berry.
