MAN Ferrostaal has been appointed the sole distributor of press protection fluid XCP Pressguard for the Australian market beginning in June. Manufactured by the Scottish-based Marott Graphic Services, XCP Pressguard is a corrosion protection fluid formulated to provide complete protection across all parts of the printing press, according to MAN Ferrostaal.
Ben Hartman, consumables manager for MAN Ferrostaal says the company is pleased to add the new product to its consumable product portfolio.Hartman says, “Given the commercial pressures printers face today, protecting capital investments and extending press life is critical. XCP Pressguard, being fully compliant with all relevant OEM requirements, will place us at the forefront of an increasingly important product category.”
MAN Ferrostaal outlines that the product – which is easily applied and used as an ongoing press maintenance regime – protects against corrosion, increases press reliability, reduces the risk of press down time and extends the life of the press and ultimately results in higher residual values.
Scott Sutherland, Graphic Services Commercial Director at Marott says, “There are generic greases and oils available on the market today, but we have designed XCP Pressguard specifically for the printing press.”
Marott continues that XCP Pressguard has been designed to protect the entire press against corrosion, from the side frames to the cylinders and essentially all areas that are subject to corrosion. The company adds that by using XCP Pressguard, the printer can extend the lifespan of the press, reduce the risk and expense of repairs and increase residual values.
