Melbourne based laminating and spot UV varnishing company Lorimier has purchased local supplier Gumming & Varnishing Services.

Peter Johnston, managing director, Lorimier says “In recent years we have seen platens and cylinders joined by new technology such as inkjet spot UV varnishing, but the core of the business, quality workmanship, attention to detail and personalised service has remained constant. These qualities are shared by Gumming & Varnishing.”

He continues, “We’re delighted that Chance Deans from Gumming & Varnishing has joined our team to be the lead operator of the acquired machines and that John Deans, while officially retiring, will also make himself available for the foreseeable future, so providing invaluable expertise and continuity. In a nutshell, the acquisition will provide additional resources and expertise to help us offer a more complete finishing service to meet the changing needs of the print sector.”

Lorimier has supplied foil stamping and embossing services to the printing and packaging industry since 1876, making it one of the oldest print-related businesses in the country.
