Integrity Bookbinding teams with Heidelberg

Heidelberg  business planning
Integrity Bookbinding Services, a Melbourne-based family operation established in July 2003, has installed a Heidelberg TD78 Topline folder with financing arranged by Heidelberg. The business, owned and managed by Sigmar (father), Paola (daughter) and Christian (son), and assisted by a dedicated production team, services a predominantly trade client base finishing and binding large runs of magazines, brochures, annual reports and books. The company started business with a refurbished Heidelberg guillotine, saddlestitcher and a folder, which was on loan from Heidelberg, while the directors chose a supplier for the latter.

"As a small business we knew we had to concentrate on growth in our first few months," says Paola Astudillo. "We needed to make an investment in new equipment if we were going to achieve our objectives."

Paola says that Heidelberg’s reputation and industry longevity prompted the purchase.

"My father, Sigmar, has years of industry experience including prior exposure to Heidelberg. We chose Heidelberg because we value the level of customer support that they offer."

According to Paola, the TD78 Topline has shown benefits already. "The age of the borrowed equipment was limiting our growth prospects. The TD78 Topline has streamlined processes; efficiency, speed and quality have all improved."

Heidelberg says that the TD78 Topline helps minimise manual labour with microprocessor controlled automatic setting for suction and sheet gap. The system works in tandem with post-press equipment including binders, stackers, guillotines and saddle stitchers.

Paola says that productivity has increased by 30 per cent since the installation of the TD78 Topline enabling Integrity Bookbinding Services to take advantage of opportunities within this core business sector in its first vital few months.

"Heidelberg created a partnership with us and made us feel we were all working as a team to achieve our objectives. It is a good philosophical match, as teamwork is one of the core principles of our business too," Paola says.
