Heidelberg  inks  joint ventures

Toyo Ink has signed an exclusive agreement with Heidelberg which will see the press giant become Toyo’s exclusive distributor in SA and WA.

Heidelberg has been in partnership with Toyo for the last three years, and markets in the ink through its growing consumables division under its own brand, which since drupa last year has been Saphira.

Toyo claims market leadership in both sheetfed and heatset in Australia. The agreement covers both inks and coatings. Toyo is the exclusive supplier to Heidelberg,.

Alan Naylor, general manager sheetfed at Toyo says, “The new deal enables Toyo to rationalise its operations in SA and WA, and strengthens our relationship with Heidelberg, which is part of our strategic plan to work with distributors. For the region’s printers it means they will have the benefits of dealing directly with the world’s biggest press manufacturer.”

Heidelberg and Toyo will continue their non-exclusive relationship in the other states.

Glenn Plummer, general manager Marketing and Product Management at Heidelberg says, “This is a good opportunity to develop our consumables business further in WA and SA, it will be business as usual for the region’s printers. We have worked well with Toyo and look forward to strengthening our relationship further.
