Jurgen Krufczyk: new national business manager for Fujifilm Australia

Fujifilm Australia has opted for experience in the person it has given responsibility for its Graphic Systems division, with the appointment of Jurgen Krufczyk as new national business manager, as it looks to develop its business significantly among the country’s web and commercial printers, as well as prepress houses.

Krufczyk has spent the last 18 years with Heidelberg managing its Asia Pacific regional Remarketed Equipment division, located in Kuala Lumpur. He began his career with Linotype in Germany, followed by assignments in Hong Kong and Sydney.

He says, “Fujifilm has some very exciting plans for the printing industry - it will be at the forefront of digital technology, so it is a great time to be joining the company. We are looking to broaden our product range as well as our customer base.”

Fujifilm is one of the world’s big three plate producers and it also makes its own CTP units and proofing solutions. On a corporate level the company is working towards integrating the Sericol business into Graphic Systems, and is developing closer ties with Fuji Xerox. The upcoming PacPrint show in Melbourne will see the three companies on one stand offering a very comprehensive product portfolio.

Krufczyk believes that moving to Australia will place him at the forefront of printing technology, he says, “Australian printers are renowned for embracing the latest technological developments in order to maximise efficiencies and gain competitive advantage. I am looking forward to working with them over the years to enable them to benefit from Fujifilm’s innovative advanced solutions.”

Dave Marshall, managing director at Fujifilm Australia says, “With our significant growth expectations for Fujifilm Graphic Systems, Krufczyk comes equipped with a strong pre-press and press background that will help drive the business accordingly.”

Krufczyk is undaunted by joining the company in the current economic climate, he says, “I experienced highly competitive business during the Asian crisis in the late 90s and we unfortunately might see a similar scenario in coming years with the survival of the fittest.”

“Fujifilm is extremely well positioned offering products with great customer value. With professional support we will also stay close with our customers even in the toughest of times. Fujifilm will therefore play a major part in the Australian graphic arts community in the years ahead.”
