Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Australia is set to host the Inaugural Responsible Forest Management Awards to be held in Melbourne on November 11. The awards are designed to recognise organisations that exemplify the intent of the FSC system through their management practices, contribution and promotion of FSC Certification and FSC Certified products.
FSC Australia says the awards will also provide an opportunity to learn how the best of the best are working with the FSC system and the current activities of the many varied FSC stakeholders.
The Inaugural Responsible Forest Management Awards will be offered in seven categories, including:
- Large Forest Manager of the Year
- Small Forest Manager of the Year
- Large Chain of Custody Operation of the Year
- Small Chain of Custody Operation of the Year
- Retailer of the Year
- Building Company/Developer of the Year
- Publisher/Paper User of the Year
The award ceremony is to be held at Atlantic at Central Pier, Docklands. A highlight of the evening is set to be guest speaker on the night and renowned US author and philanthropic executive, Michael Conroy, who has been associated with FSC for over a decade.
