Flint photopolymer plates price to rise

Flint Group  plate(s)  plates - flexo  plates - offset
The Flint Group has announced price increases for its photopolymer plates, effective May 1, with the increase ranging between four per cent to six per cent depending on product group, and will impact all nyloflex and nyloprint printing plates, and nylosolv processing solvents.

According to Flint printing plates and solvents are highly dependent on oil based raw materials and energy which have increased significantly in price during the last period. As a result of the experienced constant increases in cost of production, prices will be raised globally.

Dr Thomas Telser, president of the Flint Group Flexographic Products Division says, "Over the last years cost of raw materials and energy have continuously increased. During this period we have managed to absorb these increases by improving our manufacturing processes and at the same time reducing scrap and eliminating non-value generating downtimes. However, due to the consistent and unrelenting ongoing cost increases for our materials and services, driven by the current economic realities, we have reached a point where we are no longer able to offset the increased cost and need to adjust our pricing."

Despite the difficult economic conditions, Flint Group Flexographic Products continues to invest in new products and more efficient processing technologies. So the good news is that a new nyloflex ITR Product Line and the advanced version of the nyloflex infinity technology will be presented at the upcoming drupa exhibition.
