Ferag introduces quality plates from Plurimetal

Ferag  market trends
Ferag Australia has expanded its product portfolio with the exclusive agency for the highly-regarded Plurimetal range of analogue and digital plates. Effective immediately, Ferag Australia will be introducing the entire range of Plurimetal printing plates to the Australian market. This move further consolidates the company’s expansion into the consumables market and marks a significant development for the local industry. It is the first time that Plurimetal plates have been marketed in Australia on a large scale.

The Plurimetal range includes both analogue and digital plates for the newspaper and commercial web market as well as sheetfed printing. Ferag Australia intends to maintain stock all plate sizes and types as well as the Plurimetal plate chemistry which includes items such as developers, gums and cleaners.

Markus Haefeli, Ferag Australia managing director says, "We are delighted to introduce the Plurimetal plate range to the Australian market. The addition of Plurimetal to our portfolio will greatly enhance our ability to provide a full range of quality products and services to our customers. It is a compliment to our staff and their dedication to delivering outstanding customer service that Plurimetal has chosen Ferag to be their representative in this country.

"A sign of the high regard in which Plurimetal products are held overseas is the fact that, although they have never previously been sold in Australia on a large scale, the brand is already well known to many people in the local market. Plurimetal is a well-respected name in all markets with a reputation for technological excellence and quality manufacturing. I have no doubt that these products will be very well received by our customers."

The Plurimetal brand is a part of the Lastra group of companies, one of the world’s largest producers of printing plates. Last year, the group, which also includes the Western Lithotech range sold in the US, produced a total of 70 million square metres of plates with sales worth in excess of EUR300 million.

"We are extremely pleased to be associated with Ferag Australia and to have this opportunity to introduce our products to Australia," says Marco Capelletti, Plurimetal CEO. "Ferag Australia has a very successful record over the years with a range of high quality products and we are confident that the Plurimetal products will do equally well. It has always been our objective to bring the Plurimetal plates to Australia but we wanted to be certain before we did so that we were working the right business partners. We believe we have found that partner in Ferag."
