EFI  UV  mergers & acquisitions  printing - large format  environment

In a move to strengthen its position in the wide format printing market EFI has acquired US company Raster Printers, which manufactures the Daytona range of environmentally-friendly UV wide format printers.

These are targeted to mid-range customers in the display graphics market and offer enhanced quality and workflow efficiency.

The announcement was made shortly after Raster Printers’ Daytona range was launched in Australia and New Zealand, with local distributor DES happy with the deal as it also supplies EFI.

Ian Clare, managing director of DES says, “We are excited about this acquisition - both EFI and Raster Printers possess strengths, and we are confident that this synergy will enable DES to deliver increased customer value.”

According to DES key benefits of the acquisition include EFI’s market leading technical and R&D resources to enhance Raster Printers, giving customers the confidence that they are investing in a product with a strong technical pedigree. In addition EFI’s strong financial base will give customers the confidence that Raster Printers will continue to grow and develop under their guidance.

The integration of the EFI Fiery rip with the Raster Printers brings together two products recognised for their market leading technology. Outstanding colour management and superb image quality will result in a high quality productive printer.

DES has a reputation for market leading technical support developed on the back of years of working with the EFI product range. Customers can have confidence that there will be strong and confident support for the Raster printers on a national basis.

The Daytona T600UV, powered by EFI Fiery rip, will be on show from October 30 to November 1 at the Visual Impact exhibition in Sydnet. DES experts will be on hand to give tailored advice and perform demonstrations with this photo-quality signage printer.
