EFI introduces Vutek QS2000 superwide format printer

EFI  Vutek  curing  UV  product launch  printing - digital  printing - large format
EFI has once again broken new ground with the release of the Vutek QS2000 UV-curing digital inkjet printer, a highly sophisticated fourth generation superwide format printer. With High-Definition Print (HDP) technology, the Vutek QS2000 takes superwide format digital printing to new levels of image quality, by delivering print resolutions up to 1080 dpi with brilliant six-colour imaging and a seventh white ink channel for new and creative applications.

The new superwide format printer, delivers superior image quality on both rigid and flexible substrates up to 5.08 cm thick and has the ability to change between rigid and flexible substrate types in less than a minute, to produce output up to 74 square metres per hour.

The Vutek QS2000 has the ability to print white ink in six different variations, including overprint, underprint, spot, underspot, fill and overspot and has added proprietary image smoothing technologies to ensure imgae consistency.

To support the new printer, a fully compatible EFI Fiery XP production RIP, or optional Colorburst RIP is available, offering the integration of additional business processes in the future through EFI software products.

Other unique features of the Vutek QS2000 are, a feed-side control module to eliminate wasted steps by initiating print from both sides of the printer and a multi-job layout function through the Vutek graphic interface - allowing users to combine separate jobs into the one print job.

According to chief technology officer for EFI, Ghilad Dziesietnik, the EFI Vutek QS2000 is further proof of the EFI commitment to fully integrate business processes through intelligent software solutions.

“The introduction of the Vutek QS2000 printer and Fiery XF production RIP combines full productivity, unmatched quality and a sophisticated, yet intuitive RIP,” he says. “This is the first step in realising EFI’s vision of fully integrated business processes throughout the print shop,” says Dziesietnik.

The Vutek QS2000 will be commercially available at the end of September.
