EFI  product launch  printing - large format

EFI has launched a new 162.56 cm addition to its Rastek line range of wide-format printers. The Rastek H650 UV hybrid flatbed, delivers best-in-class image quality at an affordable price, according to EFI.

The company says its new press is ideal for production and print shop environments that are looking to offer quick service and photographic quality on a wide variety of rigid and flexible substrates.

Darrell Etter, director, product marketing, EFI Rastek says, “The H650 delivers much more than comparable printers on the market today, including faster speeds, better quality, a high-quality vacuum drive belt and the ability to print with white ink. Competing systems just cannot match what the Rastek H650 offers.”

EFI continues that the Rastek H650 prints CMYK plus white in grayscale resolutions up to 600 dpi and in a binary resolution mode that prints at 1200x900 dpi. In its billboard mode, the Rastek H650 produces output at 600x300 dpi at 21.37sqm per hour, and in its high quality, 16-pass mode at 6sqm per hour.

The company also outlines that the Rastek H650’s media handling system includes a vacuum belt drive with three vacuum zones capable of handling roll or rigid media up to 4.572 cm thick and has a print width of 64 inches wide.

Media options include Fome-Cor, PVC, plywood, aluminium, acrylic and glass, as well as traditional flexible substrates. EFI adds that the printer is ideal for businesses that want to print wide-format applications ranging from banners and billboards to posters and point-of-purchases graphics.
