DS Chemport is the new supplier of the Vulcan blanket range in Australia, and is investing more than A$ 1.8m in new 2,000 sq metre warehousing facilities in Melbourne which will contain new blanket converting equipment.

The new deal came into effect on January 1 and is a natural progression for DS Chemport, which already represents the Vulcan brand throughout South East Asia. DS Chemport will handle all sales and technical support in Australia and New Zealand.

As part of the arrangement, DS Chemport is investing more than A$ 1.8m in new 2,000 sq metre warehousing

The new facility in Melbourne will enable the company to take delivery of two metre wide blanket rolls direct from Trelleborg's Italian factory and convert them into formats suitable for the markets it serves.

Graham McKenzie, CEO of DS Chemport says, "We don't take on new distributorships lightly and we're very excited about the opportunities opened to us in Australia and New Zealand by the Trellebrog Vulcan range. We believe it's the best blanket on the market and provides significant advantages to printers, whether they operate in the sheet-fed commercial, web offset or newspaper sectors."

DS Chemport, a subsidiary of the Fujifilm Group, is a major producer of pressroom chemicals and is a leading reseller of consumables, ranging from adhesives for web offset presses to staples for saddle stitching machines. The company has its headquarters in Melbourne, with offices in Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.
