Next year’s PacPrint 05 has been chosen by several leading suppliers to launch exciting new product offers for the digital printing market. Ron Patterson, PacPrint 05 chairman of the board, says, "The decision to use PacPrint as a platform to launch new products further consolidates the event’s position as a leading showcase of the developments and technologies available for the Australian printing industry."

First time exhibitors Océ-Australia and G2 Solutions along with Fuji Xerox are just some of the exhibitors that will release new digital printers during the five-day event, to be held at the Melbourne Exhibition and Convention Centre, May 24 to 28.

Océ-Australia will showcase the Océ VarioStream 6100; an entry-level model in Océ’s range of high performance continuous feed printers.

Tim Saleeba, Océ-Australia Digital Document Systems (DDS) marketing manager, says, "The Océ VarioStream 6100 takes the excellent record of the Océ Pagestream series into the next generation. This printer has become the printer of choice for corporate and commercial users who need to print short runs including special media such as plastic cards and lightweight forms."

The company will also display several new products with details to be released closer to the event.

G2 Solutions will showcase the new Meteor Digital Colour Press, an A3 format, four colour, dry toner based printer that prints on paper, plastics, and other varied substrates including PVC, Polyester, Polycarbonate, Lexan, PET, Autotype, Vinyl and Teslin. The unit is also able to produce credit cards with magnetic strips.

Manufactured by MGI in France the Meteor DP 30/60 is capable of production speeds up to 30 pages per minute with a resolution of 200lpi and 1800dpi.

Peter Fell, G2 Solutions director, says, "This product is a new and exciting entrant into the digital printing market with its leading feature being the ability to print onto more varied types of materials than any other on the market. It opens up to customers the ability to competitively deliver short run colour jobs including credit cards, swing tags, identity cards, loyalty cards and display cards."

G2 Solutions will also display the new Xitron Navigator V6.4 Postscript Rip, the latest version of the industry leading software rip from Harlequin.

Fuji Xerox Australia will focus on ‘The New Business of Printing’ from workflow to output. On show will be the company’s flagship range of presses including the iGen3 and Nuvera Production presses.

Agfa Gevaert and Metromatics will also release new digital solutions during PacPrint 05 with product details to be announced closer to the event.
