Daetwyler opens in Shanghai
Swiss gravure specialist, Daetwyler, officially opened MDC Daetwyler (China) Co Ltd in Shanghai on April 23 this year. MDC Daetwyler (China) Co Ltd was officially founded in November 2002 and during its first months of operation in Shanghai, efforts were focused on establishing a solid sales and distribution basis for doctor blades in support of Daetwyler’s partners in China. A doctor blade grinding station arrived in Shanghai early in December 2003 and after a setting-up period, doctor blade production began in early February 2004.
"This production facility is an important part of our operations as it gives us more flexibility, which will allow us to provide an even better service to our partners", says Rudolf Steffen, General Manager of MDC Daetwyler (China) Co. Ltd.
"We strongly believe that China’s impressive economic growth rates will continue and we have been experiencing a well developed business environment here in Shanghai that is getting more attractive and competitive almost on a daily basis. We are convinced that there is a bright future for both China’s economy and society and we want to be a part of it, together with you".
Among the many guests, partners and staff from China, Japan, Thailand, Singapore and Switzerland, special thanks went to Feng Jianghao, deputy general manager of Xinzhuang Industry Park, and Martin Michel, member of the board of management at MDC Max Daetwyler AG in Switzerland, and to all those who assisted in building the young company.
